1999 System Improvements

The East Logan Water District hired McGhee Engineering to provide engineering services for their 1999 System Improvement Project. The project involved the construction of a new 586,000 gallon water storage tank to relieve storage deficiencies in the system. The new tank was constructed adjacent to the District's existing storage tank on Cemetery Road, outside of Auburn, Kentucky.

Heritage Park Ballfield Parking Lot

In 1998, the City of Clarksville hired McGhee Engineering, Inc. as part of a team of engineers, architects and construction managers to design and oversee construction of a state of the art, $1.4 million baseball and softball complex. Five softball and three baseball fields with full lighting, turfed outfields, clay infields, full fencing, bleachers and grandstand seating were constructed. Upon completion of the project, funds were not readily available to design and construct a parking area for the complex. In 1999, the City of Clarksville once again hired McGhee Engineering, Inc. to provide all of the design and construction management for the construction of a new 200 space parking lot to serve the Heritage Park Ballfield complex. The parking area includes striping, handicap accessibility, concrete curbs, sidewalks and a walkway/ramp to the ballfields.

New Natural Gas System

For years the City of Guthrie sought to create a natural gas utility to serve its residents. Negotiations made with the City of Clarksville, Tennessee, for the purchase of natural gas for the purpose of redistribution brought the project to reality. McGhee Engineering, Inc. assisted Guthrie in the design, planning and negotiation phase, and served as project manager during construction of the system.
CITY OF ELKTON, KENTUCKY
US 68-80 Water Tank Addition

Project Cost: $595,000

Project Funding: KIA Loan: $212,000

In 1997, the City of Elkton needed additional water storage capacity to supply the needs of a new industry locating in the city. McGhee Engineering performed a hydraulic study of their system and recommended a new water storage tank to be located outside of town along the new US 68/80 Bypass. McGhee worked with the Pennyrile Area Development District to secure a grant from the Economic Development Administration for construction of the project. The project includes the construction of a 336,800-gallon ground-level storage tank, 2 miles of 10-inch water line, and raising an existing water storage tank to provide additional storage capacity.
