East Logan Water District recently completed a major expansion project. The purpose of the project was two fold. Primarily, there was approximately 30 miles of “fill-in areas” within the District that were unserved. The project has involved the extension of water service along nearly 23 miles of the referenced “fill-in areas”. When completed, the expansion will serve approximately 57 new customers, many of whom have relied on poor-quality wells or hauled water for their supply. Secondly, to better manage pressure conditions, the District created a third pressure zone by constructing a new 319,000 gallon ground-level water storage tank and booster pumping station. McGhee Engineering assisted the District with securing the financing and is serving as the design engineer, resident inspector, and construction administrator.
